There are historic structures scattered all throughout the cove with 3 churches, a working grist mill, barns, and log houses visible right from the loop road. The park maintains these buildings and there are even a few that you can walk inside of. You can also pick up a tour booklet at the entrance to the road or at one of the visitor centers to guide you along your way.

It’s easy to work up an appetite when you’re having fun in Cades Cove! Luckily, there are plenty of places for you to stop for a picnic. You can also just spread out a blanket in the grass and enjoy your lunch in the sunshine. Just be sure to pick up all of your leftovers and trash because when left unattended, food can attract wildlife.
