Here are 3 tips for planning your spring stay at the Cades Cove Campground:
1. Book Ahead of Time for The Cades Cove Campground
The Cades Cove Campground is one of the only campgrounds in the Smoky Mountains open year-round. This means you have plenty of opportunities to go camping throughout the year! If you are interested in a spring stay at the campground, we recommend booking your reservations way ahead of time. You can make reservations up to 6 months in advance! Keep in mind spots tend to fill up quickly during their peak season. The cost for individual campsites is priced at $25 per night for both tent camping and RV camping. Use the interactive map to see all available options and find the perfect base camp for you.
2. Plan To Visit The Campground Store Early for Rentals
One activity visitors love to do in the spring is bike around the national park, especially around Cades Cove Loop Road. The Cades Cove Campground Store has bikes that you can rent to experience the amazing views in Great Smoky Mountains National Park. The bike rentals are first come first serve and come at a discounted rate during the off-season from November through March. If you are visiting during the peak season, expect to pay $10 an hour for kids 15 and younger and $15 an hour for ages 16 and up. They also do a 24 hour rental at $60 per day. There tends to be a line in the morning so we recommend arriving earlier than 7 AM to ensure you get a rental for the day. Enjoy biking around Cades Cove and experiencing the beautiful sites and history all around you!
3. Pack Appropriate Clothing for the Weather
Spring does bring about warmer weather but can sometimes be quite chilly in the early morning and evenings. When you are planning your spring stay at the Cades Cove Campground, be sure to pack clothing for layering. Start your mornings with more layers that you can take off as the weather warms up during the day. Another great piece of clothing to bring is a rain jacket. Spring means spring showers are possible. Be prepared for all possible weather when you visit the Cades Cove Campground this spring!
