Cades Cove isn’t just one of the most popular areas in Great Smoky Mountains National Park for tourists; it’s also one of the most beautiful destinations for a wedding in the Smoky Mountains! Whether you’re searching for an outdoor location or a traditional church wedding, here are a few options for Smoky Mountain wedding venues in Cades Cove:
1. Wildlife Overlook

If you have your ceremony at the Wildlife Overlook, you will save money on decorations. Why? All photos will have breathtaking mountain views. The overlook is framed by Thunderhead Mountain, Gregory Bald, and Rich Mountain. The peaks dip and make a “V” shape with the overlook at the center. The Wildlife Overlook is located half a mile past the Missionary Baptist Church. Keep in mind that this spot cannot hold more than 20 people, including the couple getting married. This means it will be perfect for an elopement with family and close friends.
2. LeQuire Cemetery Overlook
Another beautiful Smoky Mountain wedding venue is the LeQuire Cemetery Overlook. It is located along the backside of the Cades Cove Loop. To get there, visitors can cut through Sparks Lane to avoid traffic. Say “I do” under the tall oak tree. It is likely thousands of years old, like some of the other trees in the Smokies. Take pictures with the valley and mountain peaks in the background. Similar to the Wildlife Overlook, the Le Quire Cemetery Overlook is ideal for a small ceremony.
3. Primitive Baptist Church
If you want a traditional Church venue for your Cades Cove wedding, the Primitive Baptist Church is a great choice. It was constructed in 1832. The inside still has pews on either side as well as a preacher's stand. The darker wood gives the church a more rustic feel. The Primitive Baptist Church is the first church on the Cades Cove Loop. An afternoon ceremony is a great option, as you will have the chance for the most beautiful golden hour wedding photos!
Helpful Tip: Keep in mind that the guest capacity for Cades Cove churches is 50 people, and parking is limited to 8 vehicles.
4. Missionary Baptist Church

Another historic church on the Cades Cove Loop is the Missionary Baptist Church, and it would also make the perfect wedding venue in the Smoky Mountains. It was built in 1915 and still has the beautiful wooden pews. The wood is lighter, so it captures more natural light. You can also snap some shots out in front of the church or in the field nearby. The natural scenery changes with the seasons, so there is no wrong choice when it comes to the time of year for your ceremony.
